What’s New?

Dear Readers,

You might have noticed that I have been away for a while. My last post was on January 29th and it was a guest post, not my experience even. I can hardly believe it. Having been sucked up by uni and travelling a bit myself left no room for continuing my baby here. Obviously, things die if you don’t take good care of them, so I lost a lot of readers, exposure and income. Luckily, that is not what I am writing for. I love to write and to share good stories and great places with you, topped up by a giveaway now and again. As a matter of fact, I can start by giving away a nice summerdress for you to enjoy the last weeks of summer in (or to use for a nice trip to the sun while the trees are already losing shredding their leaves in your country). For more about the offer and more on what to come please continue reading.

So, what have I been doing for the past half year that led to deceiving my awesome readers on ambitious wanderer. Well… I passed some exams, which enables me to hopefully finish my bacherlor’s degree next year. A moment I am really looking forward too, because it means I can finally start chasing my dream of starting a place where travellers can come together.

Furthermore I can’t sit still, so I have obviously been some places. Just to name a few:

  • Budapest
  • Prague
  • Timisoara
  • Sarajevo
  • Belgrade
  • Split
  • Vienna
  • And Prague again

All in Europe this time around, but we often forget how beautiful Europe is! And I have
finally seen the bloody damn bridge in Bosnia I was so keen on seeing. My pictures are not so beautiful as this one I stole from National Geographic, but I am still happy. Obviously, me being me, I did not stick with this cities only but did a lot of exploring in the area. Furthermore I experienced a cancelled flight that hugely upset me at first but then led me to a new destination I would otherwise have never seen: an ultimate example of travel being about the journey, not the destination.

Not travel related, but not completely unrelated to this blog is that I joined a writing group in my hometown. It is actually about creative writing and not necessarily blogging, but I still get great tips and feedback about issues such as descriptive writing. As a bonus it allows me two hours to fully focus on writing every week, which is exactly what I needed to keep writing continuously. Two hours a week won’t be enough to supply you with a new story each week, but at least I now have something to grab on to keep it semi-regular.

Furthermore I am collaborating with another blogger for a new guest post to get some more different views on the world and last but not least…. The give-away!

Summer has almost to an end, but as travellers we can find summer somewhere at any time of the year. Will you skip the winter dip and fly somewhere where you could use a nice dress? If you live in the Netherlands and can use a nice summer dress it is your lucky day, because I am allowed to give one away from jurken.com. See any you like? All you need to do is reply when and where you are planning to wear the dress… Backpacking in Thailand? Working holiday in Australia? Studying in Spain? Or just going for a day-trip to Scheveningen? Whatever it is, let me know and the winner receives a message! My present to you for reading and following.

Don’t worry, after this personal update I am very keen to write new content about all the wonderful places I visisted, so coming soon:  the dreads of a cancelled flight and surprise destination Timisoara!

Since I have to study right now, holiday plans are crossing my mind almost every second. Luckily for me I will be going to Switzerland in 1.5 weeks to climb some new routes. Of course climbing will not be on the planning everyday, so it would be nice to relax down at the lake with a nice summer dress.

Dankjewel! Ik lees ook jouw posts met veel plezier. Leuk dat het nu over meer dan alleen Bonaire gaat, dan kan ik er ook daadwerkelijk binnenkort wat mee doen 😉
